DMX Control of LED Lighting
DMX is a way of controlling led lights, i.e. changing how bright
luminaires illuminate and which light color they light up with. DMX has long
been used to control large lighting installations in theaters, concerts, and
nightclubs, but the protocol also works well for controlling smaller
installations. As the LED lighting progresses and its ability to change light
colors, more and more products use DMX to control the light.

To do this, a DMX decoder is connected between the
transformer and the lead strip. Several DMX decoders are connected in series
and the first in the series is connected to a DMX master which determines how
the different decoders should behave. The master is in large installations a
light table or computer program, but there are also flexible wall units for
controlling light in a regular room.

built-in LEDs and everything was connected to the nightclub's large DMX system.
